The legendary works of Ezio Tiburzio Anichini shape this astonishing oracle deck, showcasing all the style and charm of ancient Florentine lithographs, a chemical printing technique that gained great fame during the nineteenth century and was particularly popular among cover artists of La Scena Illustrata, a historic Italian magazine dedicated to literature and high culture. The images depict angelic or sacred figures charged with religious meaning: each postcard, in fact, hosts one of the 46 verses of the Litanies of Loreto, perfectly inscribed within the halos and backgrounds of the scene. This ancient litany in Latin takes its name from the sanctuary of the Basilica of Loreto, where it has been recited since the mid-sixteenth century.
