As I’ve followed my path, it’s become clear that witchcraft has a unique and fascinating lexicon. For those new to witchcraft, it can be a path paved with confusion. Some of the terminology used may leave you unsure or even overwhelmed. Those starting their magickal journey will often devour dozens of books in their quest for knowledge, but in reading those books can find themselves frustrated by the continual use of words they may not have come across before, and this hinders their learning. As an experienced, practicing witch who offers spells, rituals and guidance to witches worldwide, I have lost count of the times I’ve been asked to write this very book!
With these requests in mind, I have created The Witch-ionary; a collection of over 200 of the most common magickal terms and their definitions. And where I found it could be useful, I've also included some instructions or examples. Some of the words in this book may not relate directly to witchcraft but are used often enough in witchcraft circles that I deemed it important to include them. After reading this book, and learning the meanings of the most frequently-used words and phrases, you will find yourself more able to study the craft without impediment. While writing this book, I romanticised about witches worldwide curling up in front of a roaring fire with a witches’ brew, their familiar by their side, and consuming book after magickal book without stumbling over previously undiscovered words and obscure phrases. It was this thought that motivated me to compile this useful, informative guide.
